How do I become a member?

To start the membership process, contact a Whirlidurb™ team member:

 

The Whirlidurb™ Service can be purchased off TCPN but not E-Rate since it is a content and service contract.

 

Can I try your programs before becoming a member?

Yes! If you would like to give us a try before investing in a membership, we now have select programs listed on CILC for $150 per session. Find us on CILC here!!

 

What does a membership include?

  • Access to over 50 programs.
  • Teacher preparation materials aligned with National Standards.
  • Real time conference monitoring to ensure quality
  • Consultation and new site registration
  • VC Coordinator orientation
  • Help desk and technical support
  • A considerable savings over “per session” pricing

We understand that educators are busy. Technology personnel are busy. Extending learning outside the classroom takes time, let us help you with that.

 

Our membership packages come in different quantities.

  • 5 package of programs (Whirlidurb Starter Pack for 1 video conference unit with select programs)
  • 15 package of programs (for up to 3 endpoint video conference units)
  • 30 package of programs (for up to 3 endpoint video conference units)
  • 60 package of programs (for up to 6 endpoint video conference units)
  • Larger packages with further discounts per session available upon request.

If you purchase the Whirlidurb Starter Pack, you will have the option to upgrade within 90 days to a larger Whirlidurb package to maximize your investment. Custom packages can be designed for larger quantity of sessions or members with their own bridge.

 

What kind of programs does Whirlidurb offer?

Whirlidurb programs include highly interactive and engaging lessons, classroom to classroom partner projects and expert connections. All programs are aligned to National Standards and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

 

The programs include curriculum based sessions for a wide array of members including those that are beginning their video conferencing initiatives and/or require lower levels of collaboration with other members in interactive video program connections to those members that are more advanced in their video conferencing initiatives and/or require enhanced levels of collaboration with other members in interactive video program connections.

 

What is the contract term of a Whirlidurb™ membership?
Whirlidurb™’s memberships expire when all sessions have been used.

 

What are my responsibilities when I become a member of Whirlidurb™?

Whirlidurb™ Members have the following basic responsibilities:

  • register & schedule appropriate video program sessions on the online integrated registration system which lists available sessions,
  • provide a designated video program coordinator & other appropriate school support personnel, and
  • appropriately configure & maintain video network equipment.

 

How do Members obtain training for Whirlidurb™ video conference programs?
Whirlidurb™ Members are provided training to ensure all members have fair access to appropriate video conference programs. All new members will be taken through an orientation on the Whirlidurb website and registration process. Teacher demonstrations can be scheduled upon request. Whirlidurb™ can also conduct more in depth training for your campus either onsite or through video for an additional fee.

 

What type of equipment is required for Whirlidurb™ video conference programs?
To participate in Whirlidurb™ video conference programs, participants need a hardware based H.323 capable video conferencing system which is approved by Whirlidurb™ engineers. The total number of sites connected to each session will vary from program to program.

 

What are the bandwidth requirements for the programs?
The suggested minimum network bandwidth for Whirlidurb™ connections is 1.5Mbps. The video conference connections will be established at 384Kbps.
